Weanling Handling & Yearling Sales Preparation
We offer a weaning and handling service for your foals, teaching them to tie up, lead and pick their feet up. After their initial intensive handling period, weanlings come in every 6 weeks to have their feet trimmed and be further handled. They are hard fed a high protein diet twice a day to optimise growth and development. They are also rotated from paddock to paddock consisting of sub and rye grass mixtures.
We also offer yearling preparation for sales. This consists of tailored hard feeding and daily exercise to build top line and muscle as well as grooming, washing and rugging to achieve a good coat. They also undergo further education in leading in order to achieve the best presentation in the sales ring.

Equine Reproductive Services
We provide all services from pregnancy and foaling down through to weaning. We can set up and serve your mare - whether it be for live cover, fresh or chilled artificial insemination (AI) as well as frozen AI. We have frozen semen storage facilities and receive deliveries for chilled semen from all over Australia and New Zealand.
When it comes to frozen AI, we can prepare mares at your property for insemination before being brought to the clinic 24 hours prior to insemination. They are then scanned at the clinic every two hours to ensure we inseminate as closely to ovulation as we can. This optimises the chances of achieving a pregnancy. Following insemination, the mare can then go home to await her 15 day pregnancy test.
Alternatively, mares can be agisted on farm to be scanned and prepared for artificial insemination and followed through to their final pregnancy test at 42 days.
All other services include:
• Reproduction services
• Artificial Insemination – fresh, chilled and frozen semen
• Stallion Collection – chilled and freezing
• Embryo Transfer
• Foaling down
• Foal Management
• Australian Stud Book registered vets: DNA and Microchip
• Provide veterinary services to the Harness and Thoroughbred Racecourses on Race Day throughout Northern Victoria
• Long term and short term agistment
Embryo Transfer
We also perform advanced reproductive techniques including embryo transfer. As per normal, the mare is prepared for service and inseminated either naturally or by AI (either chilled or frozen). The mare is then flushed for an embryo seven days later. We run our own extensive recipient herd that are all well-handled and educated mares – fit for purpose of raising that valuable embryo foal.

Facilities at “Rivendale” and “Timmering”
The purpose built property along with the extended farming country consists of 680 acres of horse safe paddocks, sand yards, outdoor and indoor boxes, 16 horse barn with wash bay, undercover 8 horse walker, stallion collection barn/lab that is quarantine approved, crushes and padded surgical knock down boxes.
Paddocks are electrified and sized to run small groups as well as 50-80 acre paddocks for greater freedom and development. Tree lined borders of paddocks are positioned for weather protection – wind and sun. All pastures are irrigated and sown to sub and rye grass with a combination of Moby barley for winter and irrigated Millet for summer. We also grow our own hay on farm to ensure quality of nutrition to the horses.
Our purpose built yards, boxes and stalls enable us to accommodate horses of any need from hospitalisation and reproduction through to short or long term agistment as well as yearling preparation.
